Voter Registration

Arizona residents need to register to vote in their county 29 days prior to an election to be eligible to vote. Registrants wishing to change their name, residential address, mailing address, and/or political party need to re-register to vote. | View registration requirements and how to register to vote

The Voter Registration Department, which is under the County Recorder, has several functions, including:

  • Registers qualified citizens to vote
  • Mails vote by mail ballot packages
  • Verifies signatures on all early ballot affidavit envelopes
  • Manages In-Person Early Voting locations
  • Maintains the Yavapai County voter rolls
  • Provides precinct rosters for Election Day vote centers
  • Petition signature verification
  • Provides quarterly statistics to the Arizona Secretary of State and recognized political parties
  • Deploys Special Election Boards upon request due to voters experiencing unique circumstances that would prevent them from voting
  • Fulfills approved public records requests (Public Records Request form(PDF, 406KB))
